Remodeling done right by a family business in Keller.

“We cannot say enough great things about Southern Star Construction and Garrett Whitcomb. Garrett has worked with us for more than eight years on multiple residential and commercial flooring projects, and every experience has been exceptional which is why we came to him for our personal home Reno.

Garrett and his team helped us add new hardwood flooring where we used to have tile, and tied it into the existing floors they refinished the existing floors throughout our our home. From the very beginning, Garrett was attentive, communicative, and incredibly responsive. He took the time to walk us through layout options, wood selections, stain choices, and design decisions, helping us feel confident every step of the way.

One of the things we appreciated most was Garrett’s expertise in helping us create the perfect stain. He spent a great deal of time with us throughout the selection process, explaining options, testing samples, and making sure we achieved the exact look we wanted. His patience and attention to detail made what could have been an overwhelming decision feel easy and enjoyable.

Another major decision was extending the hardwoods into our kitchen, which previously had tile flooring. Garrett carefully explained all of our options and helped us select a solution that would make the floors look as seamless and original as possible. He sourced wood that perfectly matched our existing floors, and the final result exceeded our expectations.

The craftsmanship, attention to detail, and customer service were outstanding. In fact, we’ve joked several times that our favorite part of the entire renovation ended up being the floors—which is something we never expected to say.

We are beyond happy with the outcome and are already looking forward to working with Garrett and Southern Star Construction again when we tackle the second half of the house. If you’re looking for a contractor who is knowledgeable, responsive, detail-oriented, and truly invested in delivering a beautiful finished product, we highly recommend Garrett and the Southern Star team.”

“They are fully honest, accurate, and explain everything in full detail. Their communication, transparency, and knowledge is second to none. I recommend working with Garrett for any flooring needs.”
